Oregon Watchdog Saves Residents More Than 5 Million Dollars as Insurance Complaints Surge in 2025 News By Lucille McNamara On Dec 15, 2025 Courtesy: Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services The insurance industry dominated consumer complaints investigated by the Oregon government watchdog agency, the Division of Financial Regulation (DFR), which saved Oregonians $5,658,813 in the first nine months of 2025. Governor Tina Kotek says the DFR ensures that Oregonians get ‘a fair shake,’ and that its work ‘is a powerful reminder of what effective consumer protection looks like in action.’ Third Quarter (July – September) DFR Actions During the third quarter, the DFR saved Oregonians $1,836,127.
