An extreme weather warming center will open at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., for anyone who needs to get out of the cold. Doors will close at 9:30 p.m., and guests can stay until around 7 a.m. Thursday. Pets and children are welcome. To find out when the shelters are available, the public can check the Ashland Tidings online, the bulletin board on the Plaza and the wooden post in front of Pioneer Hall. Lows are expected to be about 22 Wednesday night before rising to a high near 44 degrees around Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
