The Seaons play at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Paddy Brannan's Irish Pub, 23 S. Second St., Ashland. What was the process behind recording your debut full-length, "Sun Gun?" We came together as a band six months before that came out, but I had been working on that for about four years before that. It started as a record for a previous band, and then sort of became a solo project before it was a Seaons record. Micah McCaw, our guitarist, was the first to come on, and then we worked with our producer, Bret Levick (singer and guitarist for local rock band LEFT). The three of us were the main performers on the album, and then Alex Detweiler (drums) and Grayson Phelps (bass) came on towards the end of recording. What do you see as the future for The Seaons? We're a young band. All of us are between 19 and 24, so we all have an ambitious outlook on life. We're looking to a future where we can treat this band as our career, rather than a second job or a hobby. That's something that takes awhile, so we're looking at this as an investment and hoping that it bears fruit in the next few years. Our website (www.seaons.com) had a huge overhaul and we're getting ready to release our first real music video soon. What's been your biggest moment so far as a band? We had the opportunity to open for Huey Lewis & The News at the Britt Festival a couple years ago. That was a lot of fun and was an amazing opportunity to be able to open for such a big name and play in front of his fans. It was a little nerve-wracking for Grayson. He'd only been in the band for four weeks and it was maybe his third or fourth show. We've played a bunch of battle of the bands and gotten some great opportunities.
