Mignon Mead-Shikaly phoned her husband, Dennis Mead-Shikaly, Monday afternoon to say she was OK and taking a bus to Phoenix, Ariz. “She called yesterday,” Dennis Mead-Shikaly said, adding he informed the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office; however, television news and the Medford Mail Tribune still reported the woman was missing. Detective Dan Hobbs with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office continued to say the department was looking for information about her whereabouts this morning. “She’s still considered missing at this time,” Hobbs said, explaining the sheriff’s office just wants to do a welfare check. Mignon Mead-Shikaly was reported missing on Sunday when her vehicle was found in a field on Oak Street between Eagle Mill Road and Nevada Street. The vehicle had been abandoned in the area since 4 or 5 p.m. Saturday. About 20 Jackson County Search and Rescue volunteers scoured the area between Oak Street, Nevada Street and Eagle Mill Road on Monday morning for any signs of the woman who had been last seen Saturday afternoon.
