Man Held at Gunpoint While Walking Home from Work The man was accosted while walking home from work near the intersection of East Main Street and Walker Avenue. The robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. After the men fled on foot, the victim approached a nearby residence and asked the occupants to alert the police. In a news release, Ashland Police Department (APD) announced that they had arrested both suspects. They have been identified as Cole Matthew (18) from Medford, and Seth Cluff (24) from Ashland. They have been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, fraudulent use of a credit card, first-degree robbery, second-degree theft, and menacing. Coordinated High-Risk Police Operation Resulted in Two Arrests In a coordinated effort the APD, assisted by the Talent Police Department, intercepted Cluff’s vehicle at the Albertson’s parking lot in what they described as a carefully executed high-risk police operation. According to the news release, after the victim contacted the APD, police traced the men to a property in the 200 block of Tolman Creek Road. As they watched, Cluff left the residence and began visiting local stores. He was arrested without incident in the parking lot of Albertson’s. Incriminating Evidence Found at Robber’s Residence Police then proceeded to the Tolman Creek home where Matthew was detained. After his arrest, police found incriminating evidence at the property. Police have announced that their investigation suggests that the armed robbery was a targeted act as opposed to a random incident. APD has appealed to the public who may have further information to contact the department. Both men are being held in custody.
