Gallery in Ashland will host a two-day opening event for a three-woman show, "Wheels and Landscapes," running 23 days. Ilene Gienger-Stanfield and Nancy Smith have painted on location, en plein air, Rogue Valley scenes such as Crater View Ranch, Willow Witt Ranch, Lake of the Woods, Jacksonville and Grizzly Peak. Nationally acclaimed artist and teacher, Gienger-Stanfield is known for her powerful compositions, confident brush strokes and capturing the essence of the subject with charm, color and personality. Smith's paintings have a Romantic Impressionist style, rich with earth colors and visible brush strokes that invite the viewer to step into the landscape. Cynthia Wolf, a professional photographer of vista landscapes and reflections in water, is now collaborating with artist Terry Frosini on dynamic images of classic motorcycles and cars. These photos are infused into metal and shimmer with color and detail. The artists will be present at an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, with wine from Cricket Hill Winery and appetizers by Small Bites from The McCall House chef. Live painting and a silent auction are set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. Adelante! Gallery is at 130 E. Main St., on the deck with Starbucks.
