The annual Ashland Community Family Fest is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 560 Clover Lane in Ashland. Available goods and services include well-child exams, free vision and hearing screening, immunizations, $10 sports physicals, Oregon Health Plan signups, free school supplies and backpacks, free haircuts, resource tables for parents and children, and free food. The event is sponsored by the Ashland Community Resource Center (ACRC), Ashland Emergency Food Bank, Rogue Community Health, Ashland First United Methodist Church and the Maslow Project. The ACRC is a partnership between the Community Action Agency of Jackson County (ACCESS), which helps provide education and emergency services to low-income families, and Options for Homeless Residents in Ashland (OHRA). This is the third year ACRC and ACCESS have teamed to make the back-to-school giveaway a festive time for families. For details, call 541-631-2235.
