Robertson, 30, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, but avoided the death penalty under an agreement with the Coos County district attorney's office. A formal sentencing was scheduled for July 23. Elder's partially-clothed body was found Jan. 30 near the home Robertson shared with his parents. An autopsy found she had been strangled and died of asphyxiation.
