Friday night. The defending league champion Raiders (19-3, 8-2 CC) won their third straight fray, remained tied atop the standings with third-ranked Oregon Tech and snapped the Eagles’ five-game win streak thanks in part to a career night by senior wing RaShawn McAllister. The Riverside, Calif. native canned 10 of his 17 shots and went 4-for-4 from the foul line for a game-high 26 points, including 14 in the opening stanza to help SOU build a 30-24 halftime edge. Southern Oregon then went a sizzling 16-for-25 from the field in the second stanza (64 percent) to stretch the advantage to as many as 24 (on four occasions). Senior All-American Shea Washington compiled his 32nd career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while senior post Jeff Williams went 4-for-5 for 15 points. Guard Grant Enloe scored 19 for the banged-up Eagles (14-6, 6-4) in their bid to pull even with the Raiders in the standings. NU went 24-for-60 overall (40 percent) and was out-rebounded by a 39-26 margin. Southern, which caps the weekend trip at Evergreen State tomorrow night, finished 27-for-52 (52 percent). Women’s Basketball The Southern Oregon University women’s basketball team squandered a six-point second-half lead and suffered its fifth straight Cascade Conference setback by dropping a 70-58 decision at Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash. Friday night. With only eight in uniform due to Tuesday’s suspension of six players for violating team rules, the Raiders (9-12, 2-8 CC) built a 44-38 edge with 12:51 left and held a 54-53 advantage with 5:39 remaining before missing five of their final seven shots against the Eagles (9-13, 5-5). NU used a 12-0 run spanning five minutes down the stretch to clinch its third straight win over SOU, and the Eagles spoiled the return of their former mentor — current Raider guru Lynn Kennedy — in the process. Junior forward Andi Peterson snapped out of a recent dry spell with a game-high 21 points for the Raiders, while junior guard Jenna Ayers scored 15, including three 3-pointers. Northwest, which led 32-30 at halftime, received 15 points from guard Cassie Snyder.
