Second St. in Talent on Friday afternoon. Nobody was injured, but Jackson County Fire District No. 5 Chief Darin Welburn said the house suffered extensive smoke and heat damage throughout. "About 1 p.m., a passerby noticed smoke around the windows, smoke around the eaves of the building," Welburn said, adding that by the time crews from Fire District 5 and Ashland Fire and Rescue arrived on scene, heavy smoke was pouring from the windows. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to knock the flames down. Welburn said the cause is still undetermined, but the fire appears to have started near the back of the house, possibly near the bathroom. Talent Police Chief Mike Moran said a woman who lived in the house wasn't home at the time of the fire, and emergency personnel didn't find any other people in the building. — Thomas Moriarty DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Jan. 9, 2015 @ 6:32 pm Updated Jan 9, 2015 at 11:52 PM » Comment or view comments   Reader Reaction »  STAY INFORMED   Email NewsLetter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox. calendar Connect with DailyTidings.com Facebook Twitter RSS Back to top Reader Services Reader Services home Subscriptions Subscriber controls Contact us Submissions Photos Events Letters to the editor Corrections Alerts Email alerts RSS feeds Text Alerts Advertise Media Kit Home Products and services Ad rates Advertising contacts Mail Tribune Daily Tidings The Nickel Shop Our Valley Blogs Stay Informed   Email newsletter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
