Letters to the Editor, April 21 Saturday Apr 21, 2018 at 2:01 AM Don’t waste your vote The ballots will soon be in the mail. I realize it is just as important to vote in the primary as in the general election. I need to vote for the best person to be at the top of the ticket for the final election day. Who is the most knowledgeable of the important issues to be addressed? Who will take the initiative to obtain the federal funding to make improvements in our state? Who will be a member of Congress who actually considers country and her constituents first? Jamie McLeod-Skinner has all these qualifications. A vote for her would not be wasted, as she would join the other courageous and ethical members of Congress who will make improvements for the needs of our state and our country. Mary Bertrand Ashland Vote McLeod-Skinner Jamie McLeod-Skinner is an impressive candidate running for Congress in District 2, our district. I have heard her speak three times. Clearly, she has a full grasp of the issues and how they affect rural voters who live in the farthest reaches of our state as well as urban voters. She considers everyone in our district including the needs of veterans and ranchers. When I hear her speak, I am inspired by her language of inclusivity. She’s smart, knowledgeable and experienced in many fields thanks to her education as a lawyer and her experience as a planner. I support Jamie McLeod-Skinner and look forward to her leadership as a unifier and a model of integrity. Selene Aitken Ashland
