Southern Oregon Verizon customers able to reach 911 again Tuesday Apr 24, 2018 at 10:17 AM Apr 24, 2018 at 3:46 PM Verizon customers across at least four counties in Southern Oregon could not dial 911 for almost 12 hours Tuesday, area emergency dispatch officials reported. Officials at Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon, a 911 dispatch center for Jackson County, were alerted to the situation at 1:27 a.m. Service was restored about 1 p.m. The reason for the outage is not yet known. “Hopefully we’ll learn that once (it’s) fixed,” said Sarah Leonard, ECSO 911 operations supervisor. Verizon customers in Jackson, Josephine, Curry and Klamath counties were affected.
