Photo by Holly Cochran Fresh off its best finish ever at the Pacific Northwest District competition, the Ashland High School (AHS) Robotics team is taking part in a showcase of robots built by teams from around the Rogue Valley. The event gets underway at 11 a.m. today at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, 1500 E Main St., and continues to 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. there will be a screening of "Slingshot," a documentary about the latest work of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) founder Dean Kamen.​ Movie tickets are $10 per person; ticket holders will receive free admission to ScienceWorks. Proceeds from ticket sales support robotics programs in southern Oregon. The robot created by the AHS team, which is named Team 3024: My Favorite Team, made it to the semifinals in competition Feb. 28 in Oregon City.
