For those in the market for a five-passenger, full-size sedan, the new 300 is a MUST for the test-drive list. Available in rear- or all-wheel drive configurations, the 2015 300 boasts a number of “best in class” accolades, ranging from fuel economy, performance, interior comfort and features. With a base price starting below $32,000, it is also one of the best values in the segment. Consumers have their choice of four trim levels — 300 Limited, 300S, 300C and 300C Platinum. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 delivering 292 horsepower and 260 lbs.-ft. torque. Requiring regular unleaded gasoline, it delivers a best in class fuel economy rating of 19, mpg city, 31 mpg highway. Performance for the 300S model is boosted to 300 horsepower and 264 lbs.-ft. torque, still using regular unleaded gasoline. For those wanting more performance, a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 delivers 363 horsepower and 394 lbs.-ft. torque is available in RWD models only. Using regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade unleaded recommended), it has an EPA fuel economy rating of 16 mpg city, 25 mpg highway. An eight-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission is standard on all 300 models. Without question, the new 300 is writing a new chapter in the nameplate’s legendary history that dates back to the model’s introduction in 1955. The 2015 300 features the most standard appointments in the model’s 60-year history, such as heated leather seats, Uconnect with voice commands and the segment’s largest 8.4-inch touchscreen, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and five-year/100,000-mile warranty with roadside assistance, just to list a few. Chrysler President/CEO Al Gardner summed it up nicely when he said, “Our new 2015 Chrysler 300 builds on its 60-year legacy of delivering world-class performance, elegance, sophistication, technology and craftsmanship — a combination that can only be found in our big, bold and proudly American rear-wheel drive sedan ... designed to reward hard-working individuals by delivering class-exclusive technologies, premium appointments and levels of quality of sedans costing thousands more.” The new 300 is an exceptional vehicle — elegant, smooth, comfortable and absolutely loaded with features. For example, at the touch of a button, the Uconnect Access provides services such as roadside assistance, voice texting, 3-D navigation or the ability to turn the vehicle into a Wi-Fi hotspot. Available with more than 80 safety and security features, in the full-size sedan segment, it is a must for the test-drive list.
