--> --> Student honors · Kate R. Meltzer of Ashland earned her spot on the dean's list at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine for the school's second semester of the 2000-2001 academic year. Meltzer is a junior studying biology at the school. To make the dean's list, she maintained a minimum 3.2 grade point average for the semester. She is the daughter of David and Paula Meltzer of Ashland, a 1998 Ashland High School graduate, and a member of the women's crew team and volunteer of the Bates Emergency Medical Services. · Erik Nagel of Ashland made the dean's list for the spring semester at the University of San Diego, maintaining at least a 3.33 grade point average. Nagel is the son of Jim and Alice Nagel and is a 1998 Ashland High School graduate. He is a senior studying psychology and pre-med. · Carolyn E. Brewer of Talent graduated with an associate in applied science degree from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. She majored in digital imaging and publishing technology. · Tamara Lee Botts of Ashland was named to the Louisiana State University dean's list for the summer semester by maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
