The man had been driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone on Ashland Street; when stopped, he couldn’t complete the field sobriety tests because of balance problems. Wednesday 5:22 p.m. — Phoenix man, 20, cited for theft, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. The man was caught stealing three candy bars at the Market of Choice, 1400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, and also had a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a bottle of wine with him. Wednesday 3:30 p.m. — Ashland man, 23, cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana in Lithia Park, Granite Street at Winburn Way. Wednesday 11:58 a.m. — Custom guitar ($1,500 value) stolen from backseat of an unlocked vehicle parked on the 100 block of Lincoln Street. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. April 15 and 2 p.m. April 16. Wednesday 11:48 a.m. — Right rear tire of a vehicle parked in the Ashland High parking lot slashed, Iowa Street at Mountain Avenue. The vandalism occurred in the morning between 8 and 11:20. Wednesday 10:33 a.m. — Transient man, 41, cited for prohibited camping, Lithia Park, and transported to Jackson County Jail. He was also cited for open container of alcohol and arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. He had been sleeping in the erosion control area with an open container of beer next to him. Wednesday — A driver’s license, $20 cash and a credit card stolen from a vehicle on April 5. The credit card was later used to charge $100 at several local businesses.
