ONE SUNNY DAY INITIATIVE Peace group fundraiser set for Sunday Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Nov. 13, 2015 at 2:00 AM By Local report Posted Nov. 13, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News A fundraiser for One Sunny Day Initiative is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in Calvin Hall at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Walker Avenue and Siskiyou Boulevard. "Building Bridges for Peace" will include a performance by Tami and Sarah Marston like that they gave in Hiroshima in 2014; an update from Hiroshima bombing survivor and Medford resident Hideko Tamura-Snider about her trip to Japan as a Peace Ambassador; updates on OSDI projects; teas and appetizers from around the world; and prizes for donations, including rare museum quality reproductions of old Japanese prints and the children's book "When A Peace Tree Blooms." Proceeds from the event will help fund printing the children's book and its distribution to school and libraries in this and other countries. OSDI, according to its website, educates the public about the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons and plants seeds of peace, hope and reconciliation among people of the world, through educational presentations and cultural exchange programs.
