The reading is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Mountain Avenue Theatre on the Ashland High School campus, 201 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. General admission tickets are $15 and are available in Ashland at Bloomsbury Books, 290 E. Main St., and the Bookwagon, 1654 Ashland St. Reserved seating tickets cost $20 and are available online at www.chautauquawriters.org.  Student tickets with identification are $12 and are sold at Ashland High School. An acclaimed novelist, Hamilton is the author of Oprah's Book Club selections "A Map of the World" and "The Book of Ruth," along with other books. Her most recent novel, "Laura Rider’s Masterpiece," is a more comical story, and the novel she will mainly be reading from during her visit. Also on Monday, Hamilton will be interviewed on Jefferson Public Radio's Jefferson Exchange and will conduct a teacher workshop at Southern Oregon University. She will present a student workshop at the Ashland High School library on Tuesday for area students. Hamilton received the PEN/Hemingway Award for "The Book of Ruth," and "A Map of the World" has been awarded both the New York Times Notable Book of the Year Award and top-10 books of the year by Entertainment Weekly, Publishers Weekly, The Miami Herald and People magazine. For nearly a decade, Chautauqua Poets & Writers has brought novelists, poets and other writers to Ashland.
