--> --> City seeks applicant for Yap seat Ashland Daily Tidings TALENT - A six-month seat is available on the Talent City Council. Councilor Jodi Yap unexpectedly resigned Wednesday morning, citing personal reasons. Yap had not planned to run for re-election to a second term in November, she said. Talent officials hope to fill her post by June 5 and will be taking applications immediately. Whoever is appointed to fill Yap's post and wishes to continue on the council will need to retain the four-year seat in November. Councilors without discussion voted unanimously Wednesday to accept Yap's resignation and begin the search for her replacement. Applications are available at Talent City Hall, 204 East Main St. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, June 4. Councilors plan to interview all candidates beginning at 5:30 p.m. June 5 in Talent Community Hall next to City Hall, prior to the regularly scheduled council meeting.
