This threatens to undermine U.S. sovereignty much faster than does the UN, if allowed to go unchecked! The time to stop the FTAA is now, before it's approved. It will be extremely difficult to build sufficient support for withdrawl once we are ensnared in this globalist trap and international socialist bureaucracy. Too, this combined with the immigration invasion will further undermine the ability of an American middle class to resist. Why? Because the American middle class as we know it, will eventually cease to exist! Is America destined economically to third world status? Time and space doesn't permit a lengthy explanation of the FTAA. However, the web site, "Activate Congress: Stop the FTAA at www.stopthe ftaa.org does. Finally, and I admit this is a personal peeve a mine, is the willful laziness, apathy, ignorance, and indifference of the American public as it pertains to civic responsibility, voter education, and citizen involvement: Since when does football, sports, athletics, beer, T.V. entertainment, feel good junk, and being popular with the in crowd take precedence over the former? And this includes lazy Christians who don't want to get involved either. If we lose our republic, civil liberties, and personal freedom (and we are as the years go by), then all we enjoy as a free America will be lost be default! Period! In essence the public gets the type of government they deserve. The Bible states: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."- Hosea 4:6 James A.
