SOU Play Opening: Southern Oregon University's production of "Red Noses" opens at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Center Stage Theatre at SOU, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd. The play tells the story of a friar in 14th-century France who seeks to spread joy and humor by assembling a troupe of red-nosed fools during the height of the Black Plague. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, Nov. 13-15, and Nov. 20-22, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 22 and 23. Tickets cost $21, $18 for seniors, and $6 for students. The documentary covers past efforts to create a new, independent state in Northern California and Southern Oregon, including a 1941 effort between California and Oregon counties.
