--> --> Documents sought for monument MEDFORD (AP) - Environmentalists have gone to the state attorney general asking for more information from Jackson County about the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, but county officials say they've already handed over all the documents they have. The 52,947-acre monument was created on federal land by former President Clinton in June 2000, but commissioners have recommended that its size be greatly reduced. The Sierra Club, along with members of the Klamath Siskiyou Wildlands, World Wildlife Fund and various individuals, began requesting papers from the county in June. Rogue Group Sierra Club Chairman Tom Dimitre said he wanted to investigate the county's claim that an overwhelming majority of roughly 6,000 written comments were in opposition to the monument.
