Ron Chaddock Ron Chaddock, 67, of Talent, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland. Richard Allen Goff Richard Allen Goff died Monday, April 28, 2003, in Ashland. A date for a memorial service will be announced later in May. He was born Jan. 17, 1913, in Bucklin, Kan., the son of Leroy Allen Goff and Mary Juliette (Mae) Brown. He graduated from Bucklin High School in 1931, received a bachelor's degree from Emporia State Teacher's College, Emporia, Kan. in 1936, a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1939, and a Ph.D from the University of California, Berkeley in 1948. He taught at Northwest Junior High in Kansas City, Kan., and at the University of Oklahoma for 31 years, retiring as professor emeritus in 1978. He served as chair of the department of zoology for four years, as pre-med advisor, and on the university planning committee, among other position, during his tenure. His research included studies with radioisotopes and their molecular interaction on living cells. He contributed to our body of knowledge in embryology and histology. Between 1955 and 1959, he worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory on radiation research. Mr. Goff was a member of numerous scientific and professional organizations. He married Maxine Gresham in 1941 in Long Beach, Calif. During World War II, he worked as a design foreman at North American Aviation in Kansas City. In 1983, he moved to Ashland, where he became active in the Sierra Club, the League of Women Voters and the American Rock Garden Society. He was known for his outstanding rock garden and his generous plant gifts to other gardeners and to the Ashland Garden Club. He is survived by his wife for 61 years, Maxine; two sons, Dane of Redwood City, Calif. and Brent of San Rafael, Calif.; his daughter-in-law, Sara; and two grandsons, Alex and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; his brother, Roger; and his sister, Nona.
