OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL Free film fest celebrates OSF 'raconteur' Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Apr. 22, 2015 at 7:29 PM By Local report Posted Apr. 22, 2015 at 7:29 PM » Social News Oregon Shakespeare Festival Archives salutes the late Carl Ritchie, an actor, director, playwright, director of public relations, radio man and "all-around raconteur" with a showing of recently digitized films from his career in Ashland from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 27. The free program also includes the 1974 television special “The Bard from Ashland,” featuring Angus Bowmer. OSF Reference Archivist Debi Griffith will narrate some of the films, which are otherwise silent. “History Movie Night!” will be held in 150-seat Carpenter Hall at 44 S. Pioneer St., Ashland. A National Endowment for the Humanities grant received by OSF in 2013 helped pay for converting the films to a digital format.
