D. "Clay" Gangnes D. "Clay" Gangnes, 58, of Central Point, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 in Central Point. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Kevin Gowland and Charlie Marsolini officiated. Interment is at Scenic Hills, Ashland. Mr. Gangnes was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Fargo, N.D. to Ludvig and Myrtle Gangnes. On Aug. 28, 1966, he married Donna Blumhardt, who survives, in Kulm, N.D. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from Phoenix, Ariz. He worked in general contracting, manufacturing, residential building and with trolleys. Mr. Gangnes served in the national Guard. He belonged to the Central Point First Church of the Nazarene, where he led Bible study and prayer groups. He was also a member of Africa West partners, which supports missions in French-speaking Africa; Open Hands Open Heart, which supports missions in Third World countries, and the Work Witness Group, which supports mission work in construction. Survivors include his wife, Donna Gangnes of Central Point; one son, Kawika Joe of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Michele Surgeon and Marti Hill of Central Point; his brother, Larry Gangnes or Argusville, N.D.; his sister, Linda Cooley of Ashland, and 11 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Open Hands Open Heart, P.O. Box 189, 711 Medford Center, Medford, Ore., 97504. Arrangements are under the direction of Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel, Central Point..
