SOU 3-day Cuban photo exhibit, cultural festival opens Friday Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Dec. 3, 2015 at 7:10 PM By Local report Posted Dec. 3, 2015 at 7:10 PM » Social News "The Cuban 5 Return," a photographic exhibit and cultural festival, is set to run Friday through Sunday, Dec. 4 to 6, in the Meese Auditorium and Boise Cascade Gallery in the Art Building at Southern Oregon University. Friday's events, scheduled to run from 4 to 6 p.m., include a faculty welcome, a theater performance entitled "Who Are the Cuban 5?" and a talk by photographer Bill Hackwell about US-Cuba relations. Saturday's lineup starts with student papers from noon to 1 p.m., the film "Ghost Town to Havana" from 1 to 3 p.m., "Words from a Cuban Father" by Alina Cenal from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; rueda salsa dancing from 5 to 6 p.m., and a faculty panel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday the events wrap up with food, music, Afro Cuban drumming and dancing with Tony "Popeye" Stern Ruma Truhan from noon to 4 p.m. For details, go to bit.ly/1XLMpYe , or call or email Paula Sohl at 541-261-8033 or [email protected] .
