Main St. Representatives from the Eugene architectural firm WBGS will present cost estimates, as well as an updated design for the civic center that reflects public and council input from recent meetings. The council hopes to win voter approval in November of a bond to fund construction of the civic center complex, which would include a new city hall and multipurpose building in a park-like setting. The current cramped city hall, along with the empty fire station nearby, would be torn down to make way for the complex. Next month, Eugene-based Advanced Marketing Research Inc. will conduct a telephone survey of a sample of city residents to test their willingness to approve the bond.
