The city outdoor pool is the community swim group's best option after the pool in McNeal Pavilion was closed last year (and is due for demolition imminently). The official low temperature for New Year's Day was 29, but according to a "feels like" reading on one of the attendees cell phones, at 7:39 a.m. it may as well have been 17 degrees, thanks to a brisk wind of 17 mph.
