--> --> Helen J. Bell Helen J. Bell, 94, of Central Point and formerly of Ashland, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at her home. Private cremation services have been held. Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 5, 1907 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to George and Clara (Aitken) Matthews. On Oct. 30, 1926 at Ridgefield Park, N.Y., she married Donald L. Bell, who preceded her in death in 1970. In 1988 she moved to Ashland from El Segundo, Calif., where she was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her daughter Joan Hedges of Ashland; son Jim Bell of San Ramon, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, Robert and Loyd, preceded her in death. Arrangements are in care of Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Ashland. Email your...
