Police prep for Halloween on Monday Friday Oct 28, 2016 at 7:36 PM Local report Law enforcement personnel from surrounding agencies will join Ashland Police Department officers in managing large crowds expected to flood downtown Ashland on Monday afternoon during the annual Children’s Halloween Parade, APD announced Friday. The parade begins at 3:45 p.m. in front of the Ashland Public Library and moves west along East Main Street toward the Plaza. East Main Street between Gresham and Water streets will be closed from 2:45 to 6 p.m. Lithia Way will be set up for two-way traffic. Each year the downtown nightlife swells in size as citizens from across the valley celebrate Halloween, according to the release by local police, which added that enforcement will be strictly administered when police observe acts such as disorderly conduct, public intoxication, consuming alcohol in public, open containers of alcohol in public, illegal drug use or any other violations of state law and municipal code. The department added that it hopes everyone has a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
