August 20. 2015 12:01AM 5 picks for live entertainment Chris Isaak Chris Isaak The rock singer and guitarist and his band Silvertone will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 First St., Jacksonville. As a band leader, singer, songwriter and self-deprecating comedian, Isaak's shows run from rockabilly rebel and brokenhearted crooner music to breezy storytelling and fun. Portland rock band Melville will perform at 6 p.m. in Britt's Performance Garden. Tickets are $65 for reserved seating, $39 for lawn seating, $20 for ages 12 and younger, $268 for premium blanket seating, $134 for blanket seating for two, and can be purchased online at brittfest.org, at the Britt box office, 216 W. Main St., or by calling 800-882-7488. Marc Price's Fresh Jar of Skippy Tour Comedian Marc Price — best known as the nerdy next-door neighbor kid on the popular '80s NBC sitcom "Family Ties" starring Michael J. Fox — will present his stand-up comedy at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-22, at Milagro's Fresh Mexican Restaurant, 1465 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Price has opened shows for Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, starred in films, hosted late-night talk shows and, more recently, written and produced work for E! TBS, Disney Channel, Animal Planet, GSN, Showtime and other networks. The Los Angeles Times called him "refreshingly bright," and the Boston Globe called him "wickedly funny." Price will be joined by Portland comic Ray McMillin and Eugene comic Dashiell Brock. Tickets are $10. Bad Film Society Join the Bad Film Society for the 1987 gross-out comedy "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie" — a film that should be considered a crime against humanity — at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, in the basement of the Ashland Elks Lodge. The film is a statement on '80s pop culture and features a creepy chick who imprisons the Garbage Pail Kids in a sweat shop and forces them to sew garish new-wave clothes for a fashion show. It received an overwhelming number of negative reviews and is considered one of the worst films ever made. Short films, cartoons and freaky surprises will be presented before the feature film. Bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner along with any bad DVDs, tapes or books you want to give away. Visitors should enter the Elks Lodge through the entrance on Will Dodge Way, between East Main Street and Lithia Way. Free parking will be available. Admission is $4. Check out www.badfilmsociety.org.  TobyMac with Portland band Kutless TobyMac, aka Kevin Michael McKeehan, the Christian hip-hop and pop recording artist, will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Lithia Amphitheater at The Expo, 1 Peninger Road, Central Point. TobyMac — who has six Grammy Awards to his credit — shows no signs of slowing down with his 2015 album, "This is Not a Test," a deeply personal record that celebrates the richness of life. TobyMac will be joined by Portland Christian rockers Kutless. Tickets are $50 to $59 and can be purchased online at ticketnetwork.com. BROTHER A Celtic tribal celebration with rock trio BROTHER — Angus Richardson on lead guitar, bagpipes and vocals, Drew Reed on didgeridoo and keys and Michael St. John on drums — will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at EdenVale Winery, 2310 Voorhies Road, Medford. Look for music from the group's soon-to-be released album, "Last Man Standing." The new album features plenty of tribal trance elements, along with appearances by Southern California percussionist Dalbo Allen and guitar and vocal harmonies by Richardson's two brothers, who helped found BROTHER. Admission is $8. See www.edenvalleyorchards.com or www.brothermusic.com for tickets. http://www.dailytidings.com/article/20150820/NEWS/150829995 © 2015 Copyright © 1995-2011 Crain Communications Inc.
