AHS girls rebound EAGLE POINT - The Ashland High girls basketball team bounced back from a 16-point loss to North Medford with a 59-39 Southern Oregon Conference victory over Eagle Point on Friday. Eagle Point was within four points with about a minute to play, but the deficit reached 10 with 18 seconds left on a series of technical fouls. Eagle Point coach Bob Kleker and an assistant were hit with three technical fouls on the heels of a foul on the court. Ashland made all eight free throws, finishing 19-of-21 in that department. "We weren't very focused on North Medford, so we came back and we were extremely focused on Eagle Point, which I was very pleased with," Ashland coach Steve Humann said. Hilary Huyett had 19 points, five assists and four steals for Ashland (13-4, 6-2 SOC). Marla Morin had 18 points and eight rebounds and Alysse Carlson 11 points and six assists. Humann also praised the play of senior post Julia Sobolik, who finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Eagle Point (10-8, 2-6 SOC) got nine points, seven rebounds and six steals from Ashley Curtis, nine points from Selena Sychla and seven rebounds from Alisa Lee.
