Ashland swimmers sweep three-way Comment By Joe Zavala Ashland Daily Tidings DailyTidings.com By Joe Zavala Ashland Daily Tidings Posted Jan. 28, 2015 @ 8:30 pm By Joe Zavala Ashland Daily Tidings Posted Jan. 28, 2015 @ 8:30 pm » Social News The Ashland High boys and girls swim teams both swept a three-way dual meet against Crater and Cascade Christian on Wednesday at the Southern Oregon University gym. The Ashland boys beat Crater 124-85 and Cascade Christian 140-23, and the Ashland girls trounced Crater 175-28 and Cascade Christian 181-8. The Grizzly boys rolled to two easy wins by claiming first in seven events, including two relays. Luke Abell won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 19.34 seconds, Ethan Croyle took the 100 butterfly in 1:04.78 and Quinn Teece placed first in the 100 freestyle in 59.97. Also for the AHS boys, Alex Dobry won the 500 freestyle in 6:25.42 and Devon Lancaster won the 100 backstroke in 1:07.51. Ashland's girls team was led by Sabrina Scoggin and Kate Page, who won two events apiece. Scoggin won both the 50 freestyle in 28.92 and the 100 freestyle in 1:04.86, while Page was victorious in both the 200 individual medley in 2:46.43 and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.72.
