A transient man, 20, was arrested after attempting to start a fight in front of the Varsity Theater. He tried to skateboard away and was arrested. The man was taken to Jackson County Jail. Wednesday 6:40 p.m. — Theft, 500 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. A transient man, 22, was arrested after stealing two boxes of wine ($25.98 value) from Safeway. Wednesday 1:20 p.m. — Theft, 1400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. A man, 32, was cited for stealing food ($12 value) from Market of Choice. Wednesday 11:41 a.m. — Theft, 1400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. A man was cited for stealing a bottle of liquid vitamins ($19.99 value) from Market of Choice. Wednesday 9:41 a.m. — Barking dog, 1900 block of Crestview Drive. A man allowed two dogs to bark from 7 p.m. Tuesday to Wednesday morning, a violation of a City of Ashland municipal ordinance. Talent Police Wednesday 10:46 a.m. — Theft, 200 block of First Street.
