--> --> Woman, 79, injured after falling out of car on I-5 EUGENE (AP) - A 79-year-old woman was in critical condition Tuesday after she fell out of a moving car along Interstate 5. Ritha Herron, of Eugene, grabbed an arm rest and door release handle when the vehicle she was a passenger in went out of control near Eugene early Monday. The car door opened and she fell to the ground, according to Oregon State Police. Herron's ankle and wrist were fractured and she suffered cuts and bruises. The driver, 61-year-old Ronald Williams, of Eugene, was southbound when he lost control and drove into the median. The car was traveling between 60 and 65 mph, police said. Herron was taken to OHSU Hospital in Portland, where she remained Tuesday afternoon. For medical reasons, she was not wearing a seat belt when she fell from the car, police said. Email your...
