Plans call for the remaining acres to be burned today, Thursday. Smoke may be visible around north Horn Gap Road. Lomakatsi Restoration Project will also be working on the other controlled burn, off Windemar Drive near Interstate 5 and South Siskiyou Boulevard. All roads and trails remain open. Original story: Two small controlled burns are underway today, Wednesday, in Ashland. The Ashland Forest Resiliency (AFR) Project is burning about 82 acres on the west side of the watershed (southwest of Ashland) near the 2060-200 road junction. Smoke may be visible around north Horn Gap Road. Another burn is off Windemar Drive near Interstate 5 and South Siskiyou Boulevard. All roads and trails remain open. Updated air quality readings for Ashland are available at www.deq.state.or.us/aqi/index.aspx. A new interactive AFR Controlled Burn Map is now available online at www.ashlandwatershed.org.
