ENVIRONMENT Ashland watershed tour set for Saturday Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Aug. 23, 2016 at 7:38 PM By Local report Posted Aug. 23, 2016 at 7:38 PM » Social News A four-hour field trip in the Ashland Forest Resiliency project area in the Ashland watershed is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Participants will see and hear why and how trees are marked for cutting during ongoing restoration and fuels reduction in the project area. Trees are being marked for the next round of helicopter forest thinning. Organizers want to share what goes into the operation, "from science to bee stings." Transportation will be provided from a location that will be provided to those who RSVP. RSVPs are requested via email to Chris Chambers at chris.chambers @ashland.or.us or by calling 541-552-2066.
