[Photo courtesy of Ashland Parks & Recreation] Tuesday Mar 14, 2017 at 6:19 PM Mar 14, 2017 at 6:19 PM Local report Ashland Parks and Recreation has announces new playground equipment has been installed at Hunter Park, 1699 Homes Ave. in Ashland. The equipment was purchased from a local manufacturer and distributor, Playcraft Systems. This handicap accessible playground includes: • Toddler park (for ages 2 to 12); • Two bear swing riders; • An arch swing with play share; • Two picnic tables (one is handicap accessible); • A stand-n-spin; and • A play forest service truck. The cost for the equipment and installation was $65,000. Hunter Park, approximately 10 acres in size, is between Walker and Normal streets. In addition to the new playground, the park features tennis courts; ballfields; picnic areas; restrooms; the Daniel Meyer Swimming Pool (an outdoor, seasonal pool); and the Ashland Senior Center (AshlandSeniorCenter.org).
