--> --> Stay denied on term limits ruling SALEM (AP) - The Oregon Supreme Court on Friday denied Secretary of State Bill Bradbury's request that term-limited lawmakers be barred from filing for election until the court decides if the term limits law is valid. State Justice Department spokeswoman Kristen Grainer said the court without comment denied the request for a stay of a July 20 ruling by Marion County Circuit Judge Richard Barber overturning the 1992 voter-passed term limits. The state appealed that decision, and the Supreme Court has set oral arguments in the case for Nov. 6. Bradbury claims voter confusion and disruption to the election process could result if term-limited candidates are allowed to file to run before the Supreme Court has ruled. Email your...
