The new AFN quarterly report makes several points in a competitive analysis: · Charter is a mature company with large staff, established programs and greater financial resources than the city; · AFN has local service and walk-in customer service; · AFN's director has local roots while Charter is a national corporation with a non-local general manager; · AFN programming is determined by a citizen committee while Charter makes programming decisions at a corporate level; · AFN handles Internet connections through a number of local companies while Charter's single national-based Internet provider is having financial problems and high-speed Internet service has suffered temporary suspension.
