Oregon's unemployment rate holds steady DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Aug. 12, 2014 @ 2:34 pm Updated Aug 12, 2014 at 2:38 PM Posted Aug. 12, 2014 @ 2:34 pm Updated Aug 12, 2014 at 2:38 PM » Social News PORTLAND — The state Employment Department says Oregon's jobless rate was 6.9 percent in July, up from 6.8 percent the month before. The agency says employers added 200 jobs in July, following a revised loss of 3,000 jobs in June. Manufacturing and health care were two industries that expanded substantially in July, but their gains were largely offset by losses in retail trade and private educational services. Though the unemployment rate inched higher last month, it is down from 8 percent in July of last year and 8.7 percent in July 2012. — Associated Press DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Aug. 12, 2014 @ 2:34 pm Updated Aug 12, 2014 at 2:38 PM » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox. calendar Connect with DailyTidings.com Facebook Twitter RSS Back to top Reader Services Reader Services home Subscriptions Subscriber controls Contact us Submissions Photos Events Letters to the editor Corrections Alerts Email alerts RSS feeds Text Alerts Advertise Media Kit Home Products and services Ad rates Advertising contacts Mail Tribune Daily Tidings The Nickel Shop Our Valley Blogs Stay Informed Email newsletter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
