The bad news is, you'll have to choose. Either way, we are confident Ashland athletes will put forth their best efforts. The defending national champion Southern Oregon University Raiders, ranked seventh in the NAIA, host 10th-ranked Kansas Wesleyan at 4 p.m. in Raider Stadium. The Raiders are 8-2 on the season. KWU, a 750-student private school, is 10-1, but has played only one ranked team all season, and has lost eight straight against ranked opponents going back to 2013. If high-school football is more your style, you could head to Mel Ingram Field in Grants Pass, where the Ashland Grizzlies play the second half of a Class 5A semifinal doubleheader. The fifth-seeded Grizz face off against ninth-seeded Wilsonville starting at 5 p.m. Adding interest to that matchup is that the early game kicking off at noon features second-seeded Crater against sixth-seeded Summit of Bend. If Crater and Ashland both emerge victorious, it would set up an all-Southern Oregon championship game next week. That contest could be played at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, in Grants Pass or at Spiegelberg Stadium in Medford. Too conflicted to choose between the Raider game and the Grizzlies? You could always try live streaming the Ashland game while watching SOU, but it will cost you $9.95. The OSAA is offering the stream through a partnership with the NFHS Network (see osaa.com ). However you choose to spend your Saturday evening, go Raiders, and go Grizz!
