--> Insurance firm has anniversary Ashland Daily Tidings Ashland Insurance, Inc. is celebrating its 20th anniversary of business on Friday. Festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. with an Ashland Chamber of Commerce Greeters meeting at the company's Ashland office, 585 A St. The public is invited to drop in for an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to get acquainted with Ashland Insurance staff and enjoy refreshments. The independent insurance agency was founded in 1981 by Ellis Wilson, an Ashland resident since 1962 and insurance agent since 1968. He was soon joined at the business by his wife, Millie Wilson. The couple's three sons, Steve, Jeff and Tom Wilson, later joined the agency. The three brothers had attended Ashland schools before going on to Oregon colleges and universities. Ellie and Millie Wilson contributed to the regrowth of Ashland's Railroad District by having an office/apartment building constructed at 585 A St. The growing agency moved into the new building in March of 1995 and opened a Medford branch in Cobblestone Village the same year. After Ellie and Millie Wilson retired in 1999, their three sons purchased the agency and continue to live and work in the area. All six customer service representatives at the company are licensed agents, most of whom have been with Ashland Insurance for more than six years. Email your...
