She was born August 20, 1933 to John R. Brown and Edith J. Kerwin in Grand Rapids, Mich. Jacqui worked extensively in human resources and built many long-lasting relationships at Southern Oregon University, California State University Turlock, and California State University Sacramento. She possessed a zest for life as evidenced by her intrepid adventures including climbing Mt. Shasta, rafting the Rogue River, and traveling all over the U.S. and the world. Jacqui was well-known in her Ashland community. She was a frequent volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Ashland City Schools' Start Making A Reader Today program, and Asante Ashland Community Hospital Gift Shop. Jacqui is survived by her loving family; her sisters, Pat Cote, Christine Shuman, and Debra Socias; her children, Lon Holston (Janet), Janice Hopcraft (Stephen), and Ray Holston (Sherry); her grandchildren, Heather Maloney (Brendan), Candace McHenry (Arthur), Nathan Cox, Kelly Anne Meyers (Alex), Stephanie Hopcraft, Lonn Holston, Molly Hopcraft, Rebekah Whipple-Zollman (Jeremy), and Mike Whipple (Olivia); and great-grandchildren, Conner, Lexi, Kaileigh, Heidi, Addie, and Emmalin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward; her sister, Marilyn; and her daughter, Laurie. Jacqui's family would like to invite you to join them in celebrating the life of this special woman. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ashland, Ore. Pastor Tim Cartwright will officiate.
