--> --> Vandals hit Mt. Ashland MEDFORD (AP) - Vandals broke into a storage room at the Mount Ashland Ski Resort, damaging a sled and throwing beer kegs and trash into the snow. Sheriff's deputies arrested six 18- and 19-year-old Medford residents Thursday after a resort employee noticed them in the parking lot. The suspects were cited for criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Resort manager Bruce Meek said he will prosecute the teen-agers. The incident marks the latest episode in a long history vandalism at the resort. In August, someone broke the insulated glass, mirrors and lights on three snow-grooming machines. A few years ago, vandals burned down a shack at the mountain's top. None of the vandalism has been linked to environmental activists, Meek said. Meek has hired a live-in guard to watch for vandals. Several years ago, a guard was badly beaten when he confronted some intruders, Meek said. Email your...
