Wilson: Magee-Arick is CCC co-Player of the Year Southern Oregon University senior forward Kara Magee-Arick is the Cascade Collegiate Conference co-Player of the Year and teammate Sara Marks was also voted to the CCC all-star team, SOU head coach Kevin Wilson announced Tuesday. Magee-Arick, who averaged 15.6 points per game and 6.9 rebounds heading into Tuesday's playoff opener with Warner Pacific, shares the award with Cascade College's Nicole Brown. Marks, a senior guard who averaged 17.2 points per game, 5.4 assists and 3.1 steals before Tuesday, garnered the third-most votes from league's coaches to pick up SOU's only other all-star spot. Raider senior guard Kelley Dexter (10.5 points, 5 rebounds) was an honorable mention and Wilson was named Coach of the Year. Wilson said he's happy for Magee-Arick, but was furious that Marks wasn't the other co-Player of the Year. "There's no respect at all," Wilson said. "We got the last-place team coming in here popping off. There hasn't been a lot of respect for us and I guess they're just getting tired of getting killed. But they're going to have to get used to it." Added Marks: "I don't really care about the whole MVP thing - I didn't come here for that. I'm just here to have fun. But, I felt bad for our team." Magee-Arick said receiving the award was "a great honor" but was also disappointed her team didn't receive more recognition. The Raiders beat Warner Pacific 90-75 in the first round of the CCC playoffs and will take on Eastern Oregon in the semifinals, Friday at McNeal Pavilion.
