--> Ten nights in Bangkok for Pepper crew Senior Thai Pepper staffers are getting a reward for all their hard work in the form of a trip to Thailand, courtesy of owner and chef Billy Harto. Nine workers, with Harto in tow, are departing November 3 to hit Hong Kong, and then Bangkok. The idea, according to Harto is one part vacation to two parts education. The group will stay about 10 days overseas. "We want to see Thailand, because we can learn a lot from it, the food, and the culture, and also have a good time with close friends an co-workers," Harto said. Harto, who is from Jakarta, said he has never been to Bangkok, and was last in Indonesia in 1996. But he's up on the cuisine of modern Thailand, and said he's interested in taking that in firsthand. "Today, the dining scene in Bangkok is unreal. I'm looking for more modern Thai cuisine, and now there's so many new hotels in Bangkok, and so many great chefs there, I'm pretty jazzed," Harto said.
