Tutunov Piano Series Pianist Alexander Tutunov, violinist Terrie Baune and pianist Jodi French will present the final concert of the 2014-15 Tutunov Piano Series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The concert will open with Tutunov and Baune performing Maurice Ravel's Violin Sonata No. 2 in G Major, followed by Johannes Brahms' Sonata No. 3 for Violin and Piano in D Minor. 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' When wildly unpredictable and charismatic Randle McMurphy fakes insanity to spend his prison time in a mental ward rather than a work farm, he unwittingly comes under the tyrannical rule of Nurse Ratched. Determined to usurp her authority, he recruits fellow patients in an escalating battle of wills. Based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel, the stage adaptation brings these characters to life. Doug Warner directs. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 22-23. Tickets cost $15. Next Stage Repertory Company, Craterian Performances' professional acting company, presents drama, comedy and musicals in the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford. Y&T at The Rogue Theatre The hard rock band featuring guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Meniketti, guitarist John Nymann, bassist Brad Lang and drummer Mike Vanderhule, will play songs from its newest album, "Facemelter," along with its hits and fan favorites from the '70s to today at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at The Rogue Theatre, 143 S.E. H St., Grants Pass. Medford-based metal rock band Bloodmoon Warning will open the show. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the box office, online at roguetheatre.com or by calling 541-471-1316. The show is open to ages 21 and older. Petunia and The Vipers The acoustic guitarist and yodeling cowboy and his band — with lap steel guitar, percussion and sax, and acoustic bass — will present its stripped-down take on country and roots music at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Wild Goose Cafe and Bar, 2365 Highway 66, Ashland. The group yokes a swinging, revival atmosphere filled with high and lonesome vocals — complete with Jerry Lee Lewis-style yelps — with musical references to Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams. Look for rockabilly rave-ups and great songwriting about guilt, sin, redemption and gambling with Spanish ballads and French chansons thrown in. There is no cover for the show.
