--> --> Another great Ashland story It should have been Christmas because it was truly a minor miracle. The phone rang and a female voice asked to speak to my husband. Since he was outdoors I identified myself and listened to her astonishing story. "My daughter and I were looking through men's clothing we had just bought at Goodwill. She felt something in a pocket. It was a think wallet with your husband's I.D. and credit cards." I exclaimed, "Oh, how wonderful, he lost it a year ago and we looked and called everywhere." The pleasant voice continued, "My daughter and I would be happy to come over and return it to you now," she said, and I agreed and told my husband. We did not have to wait long. I opened the door to a well-dressed and smiling woman and her approximately 11-year-old daughter. We offered refreshments and a reward but they refused. The little girl personally wanted to hand the wallet over to my husband and did so. He checked it and everything from credit cards to some currency was as he had left it. I wanted so badly to show our appreciation and found a near-new, cute, stuffed teddy bear, left with us years ago by our granddaughter, which I hoped she would like and she seemed to. Mother and daughter left shortly and my husband and I looked at each other and said, "Only in Ashland," and perhaps that's true. Alice Burton Ashland Email your...
