Grants Pass Multi-Agency Raid Disrupts Fentanyl Sales, Seizes Drugs, and Ghost Gun Printer Crime & Courts By Diane Megaw On May 10, 2025 Multi-Agency Operation Arrests Grants Pass Fentanyl Dealer with Illegal Firearms | Courtesy: Grants Pass Police Department GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A multi-agency operation led by the Grants Pass Police Department at a residence on Lower River Road just outside the city limits of Grants Pass yesterday at about 9:30 a.m. is a solid contribution to disrupting fentanyl sales in Southern Oregon after police arrested 38-year-old Christopher Smith and seized drugs, illegal firearms, and a 3-D printer. Enforcing a search warrant, the Grants Pass Police Department, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team (RADE), U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Central Point Police Department, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, seized over one-half pound of Fentanyl, dozens of firearms, and a 3-D printer used for printing ghost guns. Smith, who was living in a trailer on his parents’ property, was also arrested. The RADE team, supported by the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), is a narcotics task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations. After numerous suspicious devices were found, the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad attended the scene to render the devices safe. Smith was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of Delivery and Possession of Controlled Substances (Fentanyl) and will also face federal firearms charges.
